Step into the Late Jurassic with this highly detailed 1:35 scale Allosaurus model, designed to showcase the anatomy and predatory features of one of the most successful carnivorous dinosaurs of its time. With its powerful hind legs, long tail, muscular body and distinctive three-fingered hands, the model presents a realistic representation of this iconic predator.

The sculpt captures the physical characteristics that made Allosaurus such an effective hunter. Detailed muscle definition, natural skin texture, subtle folds and carefully shaped facial features create a lifelike appearance, while the alert posture gives the dinosaur a sense of movement and strength.

Allosaurus lived approximately 155–145 million years ago during the Late Jurassic, primarily in what is now North America. Large individuals may have reached around 8–10 metres in length and weighed approximately 1.5–2 tonnes. Its skull featured large openings that reduced weight while its powerful jaws and serrated teeth were well suited to tearing flesh.

Allosaurus was one of the dominant predators of the famous Morrison Formation, sharing its environment with enormous herbivores such as Brachiosaurus, Apatosaurus, Diplodocus and Stegosaurus. Fossil evidence suggests it may have hunted a range of prey, from smaller dinosaurs to some of the enormous sauropods that inhabited the same ecosystem.

Why it's great for learning

  • Realistic representation of a Late Jurassic predator
  • Demonstrates theropod anatomy, including powerful hind limbs and three-fingered hands
  • Detailed teeth, skull structure and facial features provide interesting palaeontological detail
  • Helps demonstrate the size difference between predators and giant herbivorous dinosaurs
  • Encourages curiosity about dinosaur behaviour, evolution and prehistoric ecosystems
  • Suitable for educational displays and imaginative play

With its combination of realistic anatomy, detailed sculpting and impressive proportions, this Allosaurus model provides a hands-on way to explore one of the Jurassic Period's most important predators.
