Shantungosaurus Model
Discover one of the largest duck-billed dinosaurs ever known with this highly detailed 1:35 scale Shantungosaurus model. Despite its enormous size, this herbivorous dinosaur belonged to the hadrosaur family and combined a powerful body with a long, relatively low profile that made it one of the most impressive plant-eaters of the Late Cretaceous.
The sculpt captures Shantungosaurus with realistic proportions, including its broad head, deep body, strong hind limbs and long balancing tail. Fine skin texture, subtle muscle definition and carefully sculpted anatomical details give the model a lifelike appearance, while its natural stance helps convey the sheer mass of this enormous animal.
Shantungosaurus lived approximately 75–68 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous in what is now China. It may have reached around 14–16 metres in length and weighed approximately 12–16 tonnes, putting it among the largest known hadrosaurs and one of the largest ornithischian dinosaurs ever discovered.
Its broad, duck-like bill was used to gather vegetation, while batteries of hundreds of teeth allowed it to efficiently process plant material. Shantungosaurus was capable of moving on both two and four legs, giving it the flexibility to browse vegetation at different heights and travel efficiently across its environment.
